In 2004, A group of  Remarkable womyn at the State University of New York at New Paltz gathered to formally establish an organization for womyn of all cultures. The womyn wanted to bring an organization that would give them a senese of empowerment, sisterhood and fulfillment. Their goal was accomplished 5 years later in the Spring of 2009.  The womyn worked hard and were invloved in various community service projects and programs. On December 17, 2011 The SUNY New Paltz Colony became The Rho Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. Today our chapter has inititiated over 27 sisters from many different cultures and backgrounds ranging from Colombian, African American, Dutch, Czech, Chinese, Dominican, Haitian, Italian, Trini, Jewish, Puerto Rican and many more.
